Event Description
. Saturday, Jan 24th IMU presents LOS FURIOS, COSMEDIC & A SHEEP AT THE WHEEL @ PUB 340, 340 Cambie Street . Doors 8pm / Purchase advance tickets online @ www.imuproductions.comLOS FURIOS deliver an irresistible blend of ska, reggae, and catchy punk with solid, memorable vocals and empowering, danceable anthems that range from head bobbin' slow skanks to all out, full throttle, pedal-to-the-metal ska romps. Featuring a three piece horn section complemented by distinct songwriters and vocalists, Los Furios shine the brightest when seen and heard live. The six piece band rocks, jumps, bumps and dances through set after set creating a party atmosphere that has made them a favorite with audiences. With 11 Canadian tours under their belt and dates on several Vans Warped Tour, Los Furios have shared stages with The Real McKenzies, Fishbone, Bedouin Soundclash, DOA, The Smugglers, The Planet Smashers and many others. http://www.myspace.com/losfurios
COSMEDIC - Melodic, intense rockers hailing from the depths of Vancouver, Cosmedic have created a solid and original sound all their own. Their first single "Without Eyes" has irresistible guitar lines, pensive lyrics and a memorable chorus. Their magnetic, seductive sound comes to life with their powerful and passionate live shows, and their recently released EP "Love Hate Machine" confirms their talent: "The songs are quirky, yet immediately relatable. The hooks are strong, and the laconic, understated vocal approach is an appealing combination." -- Taxi http://www.myspace.com/cosmedic
A SHEEP AT THE WHEEL fuses pulsing riff-laden verses, huge hooky choruses and powerful vocals in an original alt-rock package. Since the 2005 release of their first EP, Blend, the Sheep won the UBC Battle of the Bands, were voted among the top three new independent bands two years running in the Georgia Straight, have played BC Place and the Pacific Coliseum, and opened for big acts like Finger Eleven, Edwin, and Wide Mouth Mason. Their new record "Dreams and Debris" is a well-crafted mix of catchy rock tunes. The video for the lead single recently made it to #15 on YouTube! http://www.asheepatthewheel.com
