Event Description
. Saturday, April 26th I.M.U. presents The ROCK'N'ROLL ROADSHOW! featuring BLACK DOG Led Zeppelin Tribute w/ FREEWILL, LIKE A MARTYR & TROPHY WIFE @ The Media Club, 695 Cambie . Doors 8pm, $10 Advance - Purchase advance tickets via the bands or online @ http://www.imuproductions.comBLACK DOG - Based in Vancouver and featuring the members of Vancouver's Mad Shadow, Black Dog creates a mesmerizing and accurate portrayal of LED ZEPPELIN, from the band's wardrobe to their dynamic onstage presence, paying homage with emotion and realism to their powerful, unmistakable sound. Be transported back 30 years to when the baddest and the best band in hard rock was in their prime!
FREEWILL - Rising out of the Vancouver music scene, Freewill is a belief in creating timeless music for themselves and the peeps. Their music blends the deep roots of classic, blue collar rock 'n' roll, with funky bass runs, and edgy passionate vocals. The sound is straight forward and to the point. They are a fun, dirty guitar driven, bass thumpin, sweet soul rock 'n' roll band. "The Rock 'N' Roll Roadshow" is a series of live shows developing around town at various venues with a consistent theme of bringing a good' ol Rock 'N' Roll party to the people. www.freewillband.com
LIKE A MARTYR showcase a rock'n'roll freight train of roaring guitars, thunderous vocals and pulsating rhythms combined with shimmering harmonies, memorable melodies and the lost art of the guitar solo. Their tight tunes have garnered them stage time with respected local and touring acts including Rich Hope, Dustin Bentall, Dearly Beloved, Incura and Whitfield. Their songs "Drive Fast Crash Hard" and "Sing" appeared in episodes of Global TV's 2007 hockey reality series "Making The Cut: Last Man Standing". www.myspace.com/likeamartyr
TROPHY WIFE put the MENTAL back in INSTRUMENTAL, combining shredding guitar solos, funk bass, Latin rhythms and jazz-classical piano into a contagious blend that has garnered fans at venues like The Roxy, Media Club, Buffalo Club and Columbia. Comprised of Louie Anyos, the most unsung guitar hero on the planet, Darryl Greer on bass, the funkiest whiteboy on the planet, and the hairiest, most rocking drummer on the planet, Pablo Stolowicz, Trophy Wife is prog-rock in it's most virtuosic and shamelessly entertaining form. Foregoing a singer to steal all the glory for themselves, Trophy Wife aims to dazzle the ear, please the eye, move the ass, melt the face and do other unmentionable things to every other body part you can think of. www.myspace.com/trophywifeband
