Event Description
. Friday, November 23rd I.M.U. presents LOOT ~ A Tribute to Tool w/ special guests YEAH WHATEVER @ The Bourbon, 50 West Cordova . Doors 7pm - Purchase advance tickets directly via the bands & online @ http://www.imuproductions.com/tixLOOT ~ A Tribute to TOOL - LOOT is a band motivated to put on the greatest live show possible in a tribute of respect and admiration for Tool's fiercely earnest mastery of subtly textured and expressive metal. LOOT's dynamic performances capture the raw energy of Tool, creating quite a stir amongst live music enthusiasts and particularly Tool fans, some of music's most exacting critics. The primal, unconventional musical and emotional textures of Tool's music combine with powerful skill and prowess to create a dense, complicated art-metal tour de force. Be sure to come out and be enveloped in the musical gymnastics and unusual time signatures of a band that has created a complex sonic territory which is undeniably their own.
YEAH WHATEVER - One of Vancouver's hottest emerging bands, the band was recently featured in The Province & National Post after their MySpace page received 20,000 hits in one day after their dark melodic music was played on the premiere episode of "Blood Ties". TV and movie soundtracks are nothing new for the band whose music has been featured in movies and series including The Lost Boys 2 (2008), Blood Brothers: Reign Of Terror, Past Tense and CRC (Canadian Rally Championship). Most recently, the band was in the Bodog Battle of the bands and is currently recording their new CD. You can expect to hear much more from these talented rock-metal song-smiths in the very near future.
