. Friday, December 14th I.M.U. presents TOP DRAWERS, STRANGE BREW, MAKE THE LION @ The Backstage Lounge on Granville Island (1585 Johnston St.) . 9pm

The TOP DRAWERS are not your typical Vancouver band. A full on throw back to times when the guitars were raunchy and the vocals had soul, the Drawers have all the swagger of the original '60s big beat revolution with a modern twist. With their keen knack for melody and their danceable and accessible sound, the Top Drawers are ready to make a serious splash in the Vancouver pond.

STRANGE BREW - Based in Vancouver, this project consists of members from the Beatles tribute band Twist & Shout and The SSRI'S and was formed as a tribute to CREAM, the most underated psychedelic blues rock band of all time. Strange Brew focuses on Cream's entire catalogue and will be treating fans to both well-known and obscure songs from this well-loved classic rock band.

MAKE THE LION - This versatile band's engaging mix of post Radiohead prog-psychadelia and the raw energy of bands such as nirvana and sonic youth has recently been described by Nerve magazine as intelligent rock for the thinking soul, [&] one of Vancouvers more impressive young bands.Rounded off by a live performance that includes interactive visuals and a rotating cast of guest musicians playing electronics, brass, percussion and guitar, audiences are drawn into a unique and dynamic listening experience."
