It is always such a pleasure to see a class act in what many agree is the best nightclub in the Lower Mainland. 99.3 The Fox and Rock.It Boy Entertainment are hyped up to present Cordova Bay recording artist STATE OF SHOCK in concert on Friday, September 28TH at the Mirage nightclub in Surrey. Advance tickets are available for $15 from all Ticketmaster outlets or $20 at the door.

It seems like it was just the other day that local rockers STATE OF SHOCK were up and comers winning the 2004 CFOX SEEDS contest, and here they are in 2007 riding high with ‘Money Honey,’ one of the great songs of this summer from their second album Life, Love & Lies released this past June.

Of course, there is no such thing as overnight success as founders Johnny Philippon (drums) and Jesse Wainwright (guitars) will tell you. For them it has been eight years of hard work, moving from a heavy rock band into a more rounded melodic sound with huge commercial appeal, but commercial without compromising integrity. On the second album they enlisted the help of hard rock specialist Mike Fraser to mix the record and, in the process, add STATE OF SHOCK to a list of credits that already included AC/DC, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Metallica and Rush.

They have gone back and forth countless times across the country in a van playing clubs, bonding, and honing their live act for the last three years and have recently toured the country with local superstars Nickelback to massive response from the large audiences. It seems that Philipon, Wainwright and fellow members Cam Melnyk (vocals), Simon Clow (guitar) and bassist Alison Toews are set to move up and make their mark in the big time.
