Event Description
Saturday December 30th IMU & CiTR present LAMPLIGHTER NEW YEAR'S BLOW-OUT WEEKEND w/ The FEBRUARY MARCH, THIS WEEK IN HISTORY, Dead Ringer & Make The Lion @ The LAMPLIGHTER, 210 Abbott Street . Doors 8pm / Advance Tickets $10The FEBRUARY MARCH - Formerly known as Formula, this 4-piece indie rock band showcases guitar-orientated classic rock. Having previously enjoyed frequent radio play from CFOX, the band has played the Western Canada Music Awards, Whistler Ski and Snowboard Festival and Thunderbird Stadium as well as TV appearances on City TV and Global News. With their newest album backed by Swiss record label B&C Entertainment and recorded at Mushroom Studios, you can expect this band to pick up steam quickly. http://www.myspace.com/thefebruarymarch
THIS WEEK IN HISTORY are a group of silver-tongued devils out to worm their way in to the proverbial undergarments of the music industry. Featuring members of Rakshasa and Burn Project, this local A-Team delivers appealingly catchy songs created with unusual combinations of instruments and experimentation. Paired with the on-stage antics of a band let loose, this is what you wished you had found every time you've been disappointed at a live rock show... a REAL danger-fueled rock'n'roll show!
MAKE THE LION - Formerly known as Avatar, this band had audiences moving with rhythm-driven songs that dazzled and energized. Their versatile music falls somewhere between Radiohead and Nirvana, with touches of Sonic Youth and Pink Floyd. Be sure to catch the band in their newest incarnation as they play brand new tunes for your listening pleasure.
