Event Description
. Friday, December 1st IMU & CiTR present The R.A.F., Black Alley, This Week In History & The Stalls @ The BACKSTAGE LOUNGE on Granville Island (1585 Johnston St.) . 9pm / $10The R.A.F. - "Folk Punk From Outer Space": The RAF was co-founded by lead singer David Phillips working together with his brother on a shared desire "to kick some ass and not be acoustic singer-songwriters." The band's solid line-up also features Sean Bingham, one of the most notorious bassists in the West Coast punk scene, and Steve Watts of In Medias Res behind the drum kit. http://www.myspace.com/rafband
BLACK ALLEY - Featuring singer/songwriter Rod Burn (Sonic City, Burn Project), Black Alley plays explosive, passionate, straight to the point rock'n'roll, with an adrenaline-drenched sound that promises uncontrollable headbanging and fist-pumping good times! http://myspace.com/blackalleyband
THIS WEEK IN HISTORY are a group of silver-tongued devils out to worm their way in to the proverbial undergarments of the music industry. Featuring members of Rakshasa and Burn Project, this local A-Team delivers appealingly catchy songs created with unusual combinations of instruments and experimentation. Paired with the on-stage antics of a band let loose, this is what you wished you had found every time you've been disappointed at a live rock show... a REAL danger-fueled rock'n'roll show! http://www.myspace.com/twihmusic
The STALLS - A four-piece independent band from Vancouver, The Stalls were previously known as the 'Dead Leaves' and 'Halogen.' Their current line-up debuted in early December 2005 at the Emergenza showcase festival, and over the past months the band's impressive live shows has had the band playing shows in venues such as Richards on Richards, The Buffalo Club and more! http://www.myspace.com/thestalls
