About

Elizabeth

Label: Red Coat Record Company
since circa 2004
Elizabeth came out swinging with their debut album First Excommunications in 2007. Made up of fraternal twin brothers (front man Reggie Gill and drummer Paul Gill), guitarist Davor Katinic, and bassist Rory O’Sullivan, the band grew up in the suburbs of Vancouver. They have been playing together for over a decade and have grown from a parents’ basement, to a UK tour, and to the legendary Warehouse studio. Elizabeth has opened for the Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, and the Libertines, to name a few, and toured with Hot Hot Heat, garnering press attention from the NME.

They released a second album, Hazards, Horrors and Liabilities, in 2010 and opened for such bands as British Sea Power, the Raveonettes and the Cribs with Johnny Marr. Elizabeth has also made several appearances at the Virgin Music Festival.

The yet-to-be-released third album (currently recording at the Warehouse studio with producer Eric Mosher) pulls from ‘50s and ‘60s rock and doo-wop girl groups, all through the lens of ‘70s punk. For the first time, Gill, Katinic and O’Sullivan have all written songs for the album and each take the lead singing their own songs.
