Clann Zú

Clann Zú formed in Melbourne, Australia at the end of 1999. Featuring 5 Australians and one Irish man, all from various musical backgrounds; punk, rock, folk, electronic, & classical. Clann Zú set out with an agenda to make music without boundaries. The vocals provided by Waterford born Declan de Barra are bilingual [Irish and English]. From beautiful dark melodies to intense spiraling instrumentals, Clann Zú's music is decidedly original. The live shows can only be labeled "intense". It has been through a combination of these moving live performances that Clann Zú quickly earned themselves a loyal following in their home town of Melbourne. 2001 saw their debut self-titled EP released in Australia to rave reviews as well as a steady flow of live shows. Clann Zú relocated to Ireland early in 2002 where they completed their debut album Rua. May 2002 saw Clann Zú play their first live shows in Ireland headlining Galway's Dominica Festival to a rapturous response.
