Amy Nohales-Kezes

Art has been a passion for most of my life. I have always been fascinated by the effects of light on nature and how it affects the colours and mood of what it touches. As a teenager I spent hours sketching and playing with tonal values, and over 20 years ago was able to start painting seriously, taking classes and workshops with artists whose style and technique inspired me. Even today I am working constantly to improve and feel more able to express my emotions and feelings through my art. Acrylics and Oils are my favourite mediums. Nature has always been my main source of inspiration, filtered through my feelings and life experiences. My academic training was in communications, and that passion has continued with me and motivates me to express my love for nature, especially Canada’s rugged landscapes. Through the years my art has evolved into a more introspective expression and hope it will never stop evolving. My goals have been and are to go beyond what can be seen through a camera and express how that moment in time made me feel. There is nothing I love more than being in front of a canvas with rich colourful paints next to me and lots of ideas pouring into my brain.... more...
