About

Clark Brendon

Instruments: Bass (Acoustic), Guitar, Saxophone, Hand Percussion details
* As a boy, Brendon was inspired by the music of Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck and Mose Allison. In 1981 Clark, Robert Brodeur, and Paul Wainwright were searching for a way to play the music they love from the big band era, and formed Big Band Trio. The result was the smoothest three part vocal harmonies combined with their unique brand of swing, jump and boogie favourites that earned them the distinction of one of Canada's premiere swing groups releasing 3 CD's, Wolf at the Door,  Places to Go, People to See and Rent Party! The trio performed alone or with up to three additional players known as the Jumpin' Jive Orchestra. Today Clark plays with a blues trio called The Blue Lights performing every Tuesday at the Loft Pub including a rotating variety of musical guests sitting in wth them. A highly regarded musician in the Victoria music scene, Clark plays bass, saxophone, percussion and sings, but mostly enjoys playing his Gibson guitar. His stylings include jazz, blues, gypsy jazz, Latin, Flamenco, Parisian musette, and swing. * From the website www.bigbandtrio.com
