Sometime later in the great city of Kamloops, I met up with a friend who was learning guitar. Although I was convinced I was bound to be a drummer, I found more opportunities to play guitar and picked up a number of Metallica riffs. With very long hair, leather/denim jacket with spikes, and a motorcycle, I surprised more than my classmates and graduated with honors in Kelowna. Shortly after graduation, I finally afforded my first drum kit. Immediately I became involved with some young local players and began jamming whenever work didn't get in the way.
Eventually, after forming and dispensing with various bands, I started getting fed up trying to find decent guitar players to jam with. To pass the time, I bought a guitar, and ever since drumming has become a secondary interest. I started writing songs and realized quickly my preference for playing my original music. I was jamming with some guys, but we had a tough time finding someone who could sing. For the sake of jamming I took on vocals, and much to my own suprise, over time my screeching became bearable. As is often the case, my band mates moved on, and I was left with my drums, my Ibanez, and my Marshall amp.
Once again, music dropped down to a casual interest. I continued to write songs from time to time, but my main focus was now on my relationship with Kim (now my supportive wife) and building up some sort of career. After a wide variety of jobs, things started to pick up in 1997 when I got involved in the internet boom. Through hard work and timing, I ended up as Vice President of Operations for a large webhosting company out of Sudbury, Massachussetts. The company was bought out and my wife and I moved back to Kamloops to start our family. Since then I formed my current company, SilverServers Inc. and have been running this company for the last few years.
Over time I have come to realize that there's music deep in my soul. At times I have tried to sell off my equipment, but somehow never make the sale. Finally, thanks to some strong prodding from my wife, I approached James Lipoth and asked him to record and produce my music. From that day I have realized my love for recording music. The completion of my debut EP “Free” has led me to renewed interest in song writing. My experience with computers and technology have led me to shooting my own music videos and running a great website. With the support of a growing fan base, I am seriously exploring the opportunities in the great Canadian music industry.
