The Hermit, a studio/live project, is the result of Thomson's year spent in experimental recording sessions with the aim of combining his talent as a percussionist and drummer with his passion for ambient electronica. The result is an album that combines the freedom of technology with the sensual organic quality of traditional instruments. All instruments on the album were played by Thomson, who composed spontaneously, working on emotion and with whatever produced the right noise.
