Presently in 2 groups--The BigDawg Band and the BobCats.The first is a classic 60's,early 70's Soul/R+B 8 piece and the second is a 4 piece that specializes in 50's,60's and 70's vocally strong rock music.My guitar playing started at age 10 in 1961 so I'm firmly rooted in Carl Perkins,Scotty Moore,Chet Atkins,Hank Garland,Chuck Berry,Duane Eddy,James Burton--you get the drift--The Beatles took over and George Harrison embodied much of the former for me.Time past and Eric Clapton,Jeff Beck and Jimo Hendrix took their place in my personal learning curve.Country players like Albert Lee and Ray Flack as well as the brilliant Amos Garrett (who I toured with in the early 80's)also have colored my playing.
At present I've been writing more and doing some recording both as a producer and as a session player.Most recently I recorded on the Colin Wiebe (aka Colin Arthur)cd--"Closer to You"--Colin is Randy Bachman's keyboard/lead vocalist in his touring band.
Frankly I've played on so many gigs and recording/tv/radio gigs over the years I can't really list them--I'm getting a site soon that'll attempt to address that.For the time being I'm just another gigging player/writer/producer looking for inspiration and good people to work with.I also teach guitar and music theory to a few people as time permits.Hope to mett some new folks through this site.
