Wayne Lavallee music defines the First Nations contemporary artist. His music is inspired by many genres of music from Led Zepplin to Aboriginal chants thousands of years old. His recent album "Green Dress" is produced by Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath) with Wayne also at the helm and has special guests such as Juno award winning Jesse Zubot and Steve Dawson,world renowned guitarist Dave Sinclair, vocalist Shakti Hayes and more. The album was mixed by audio guru Steven Drake (the Odds) and Mastered at Sterling Sound-New York. Wayne's unique vocals are heart-felt with an aggressive cutting-edge acoustic sound that evokes pure emotion. His haunting melodies & lyrics create a world of Native mysticism. Wayne's vocal style has been compared to Fiona Apple with a little of Dan McCafferty of (Nazareth) mixed in. Wayne is from the Cree/Metis Nation; he was born in Vancouver, B.C. At the age of five Wayne received his first guitar & discovered his passion for music and singing.Through the influence of his Native culture, music and theatre, Wayne would emerge as a professional entertainer touring nationally as a singer/songwriter and actor. His dedication and passion for touring & live performance are the foundation for his emerging career which has put him on the stage opening up for artists such as Academy/Juno award winning musicians Buffy Sainte-Marie, Susan Aglukark & Kashtin. The fusion of his folk/rock acoustic style with traditional Cree chanting makes his work unique, fresh and innovative. Wayne Lavallee is a rising talent on the West Coast music scene, his debut CD "Liv Again" was nominated for Best Rock Album at the 2000 Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards.
