Robin Horn exemplifies the complete musician, with skills as a live and studio drummer, composer, arranger, producer, recording artist, electronic percussion programmer, demonstrator, clinician, and educator. He was born into a musically gifted family and environment (father Paul and Paul's mother, Francis Sper - pianist for Inving Berlin, and Godfather, Chico Hamilton). Robin began playing the drums at the age of eight. He grew up in famed Laurel Canyon in the 1960's knowing such people such as Carole King, Mickey Dolenz, The Turtles, Donovan, John Densmore (drummer for the Doors, with whom Robin had a drum lesson), Mick Fleetwood, Buddy Rich and countless others. After attending high school in Victoria, Robin studied music at De Anza College (1978-1980) and The University of Toronto(1980-1982). While attending DeAnza College, Robin had to opportunity to back jazz legend, Chick Corea during his clinic (1978).
