Leslie Uyeda is a conductor, composer and pianist living in Vancouver. She is the Chorus Director for Vancouver Opera, where she has also conducted mainstage productions of Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, The Pirates of Penzance, and The Barber of Seville with Tracy Dahl and Brett Polegato.
Ms. Uyeda has also conducted for Pacific Opera, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Banff Centre, and Edmonton Opera. She has been Chorus Director of Manitoba Opera and Opera Hamilton, and pianist and coach at the Canadian Opera Company, the Banff Centre, the Chautauqua Institute of Music, and L'Opéra de Montréal.
Leslie Uyeda's compositions have been performed by the Elektra Women's Choir, Chor Leoni, the Phoenix Chamber Choir, soprano Wendy Neilsen and pianist Rena Sharon. A well-known collaborative pianist and respected vocal coach, Ms. Uyeda has accompanied in concert international artists Richard Margison, Tracy Dahl, and Judith Forst.
