One of the most consistently adventurous rock bands to come out of the West Coast, 54-40 first came to prominence in the mid ’80s through songs like “Baby Ran” and “I Go Blind” (the latter later covered by Hootie and the Blowfish). Several albums, many hit singles and numerous awards later, the Vancouver quartet is as vital as ever, producing some of the best music of its career. Yes to Everything, 54-40’s most recent CD, featured brilliantly crafted songs like “One Last Kiss” and “Golden Sun” and the epic “On the Road Home”.
But besides the band’s stellar recorded efforts, 54-40 is a dynamic, powerful live act whose shows are eagerly awaited by rock ’n’ roll fans the world over. At last, a long-awaited document of the group’s concert prowess is available in the form of a DVD for the first time, courtesy of True North Records. To promote the October release of the DVD, This is Here This is Now, 54-40 return to the concert stage. The band will play their latest material and dip into a hard-to-beat back catalogue that includes songs like “One Day in Your Life”, “One Gun”, “Here in My House”, “Miss You”, “She-la”, “Nice to Luv You”, “Ocean Pearl”, and many more.
