Event Description
http://www.ticketmaster.ca/event/11003D1693B3D4A3?artistid=1057845&majorcatid=10001&minorcatid=60A Christian metal-core quintet whose members have “BBQ” tattooed on their lips, Norma Jean is preparing a fresh assault on the ears and minds of metal fans with the release of its third album, Redeemer. The follow-up to the Atlanta, GA group’s successful 2005 O’ God, the Aftermath (#62 on the Billboard album chart), the disc was overseen by legendary producer Ross Robinson. Norma Jean’s music has been compared to that of Botch, Coalesce, and Converge, and its debut, Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child, was hailed by fans of the genre as one of the most devastating hardcore albums of the last decade. The band has just finished touring with Ozzfest and is about to embark on the Radio Rebellion Tour.
Madison, Wisconsin’s Misery Signals have just released their latest, Mirrors. Even more momentous than their acclaimed debut, 2004’s Of Malice and the Magnum Heart (produced by Vancouver metal guru Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad), the new disc promises to cement the young band’s reputation as one of the fiercest acts on the heavy music scene.
Alaska is the eagerly anticipated follow-up to Between the Buried and Me’s 2003 Victory breakthrough, The Silent Circus. The new album finds the North Carolina quintet, which has toured with Converge, Bleeding Through and Ozzfest, showcasing its elaborate, hypnotic guitar work, relentless rhythmic underlining, thought-provoking lyrics and creative ingenuity.
