What a delight it is to welcome these performers back to the festival! Marc Destrubé’s masterful interpretations of baroque and classical music have earned him membership in some of the world’s finest period ensembles, notably as first violinist with the Smithsonian Institution’s Axelrod String Quartet. Period keyboard player Alexander Weimann is one of the most sought-after chamber music partners of his generation, and brings us the added value of a rare fortepiano performance. Their all-Mozart program is highlighted by two of the composer’s finest violin-keyboard sonatas. Savour the pleasure of chamber music-making at its best!
