We're thrilled to present an intimate night of music with Canadian chanteuse and 5x Juno-nominated vocalist, musician and composer Jane Siberry. She has a unique artistic personality that makes itself heard across all the many genres in which
she has worked. Whether cast in a mold of pop, jazz, dance music, or semi-classical ambient soundscape, Siberry's songs convey an ethereal lyricism that's all her own, with vocal and choral harmonies providing a rich palette of sounds and moods.

Leslie Alexander grew up on a sheep farm & couldn't wait to get to the city.She hit the road, made a bunch of mistakes & wrote songs about them. She wound up singing on a street corner in Vancouver for spare change. She does not consider this a mistake.

Along came producer John Ellis (Be Good Tanyas), who helped Leslie make her first recording Bird in the House in 1997. Tom Zillich (Westender) said it was "one of the best Vancouver indie releases I've heard." Anyway, it got her off the streets & into some coffeehouses and clubs where she set her sights on the concert stage.

Leslie has since shared the spotlight with the likes of Mary Gauthier, Harry Manx, & Jim Byrnes. Headlining her own tours or opening shows on the road with Barney Bentall (Fall 2004), the Northern Pikes (Fall 2003) and Sean Hogan (Fall 2002), she's still happiest when she's on the move.

Inspired by the disappearance of grain elevators from the prairie skyline, Leslie's current CD Savage Country is recieving four-star reviews and international airplay on the CBC, BBC and Australian NPR. Co-produced by John Ellis (Be Good Tanyas) and Wyckham Porteous, Savage Country was the #4 Most Played Folk/Roots album on Galaxie Satellite Radio in January 2004.

Leslie's next release "Slow Down," dealing with travel, time, and tomorrow, will be available in Spring 2005.

Touring solo, with John Ellis or with her band the Wild Rosehippies, Leslie's songs about train-tracks & semi-trucks, telephone lines & barbed wire fences will take you all the beautiful & terrifying places she¹s been.
