Event Description
After we hosted the debut of Russian Tim and Pavel Bures at our in person/live stream from the Swamp in August 2021 we couldn't help but bring them back for their album release titled "Something More in Russian." If you've never seen Russian Tim and Pavel Bures be prepared to experience punk like you've never seen before. Enjoy high energy punk in Russian and one of the best parts is Russian Tim himself. He loves to move around and jump while he sings with his Pavel Bures.Joining Russian Tim & Pavel Bures are The Anti-Queens from Toronto, Doghouse Rose (also from Toronto) and DTK.
The Anti-Queens are an all female punk trio on Stomp Records that have been tearing up the scene in Eastern Canada packing their own headlining shows and playing on major festivals such as Montreal 77, Pouzza Fest, Montebello Rockfest, le Déluge, Park Jam and Beau’s Oktoberfest to name some. They also recently completed a successful European tour with label mates Creepshow. We are excited to have them play in Victoria for the first time.
Doghouse Rose, also on Stomp Records are rooted in melodic punk with a hint of rock n roll. Led by Sarah Beth their vibrant melodies, thunderous rhythms, and candy sweet vocals deliver stories about chasing dreams, hard luck times and not taking life too seriously.
Finally DTK is a brand new folk band hailing from Victoria composed talented musicians from three Victoria global roots and funk bands. Kurt Lowen (formerly of Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra), Travis from Party On High Street and Dana Towers of Buena Buya make DTK. Note their name is temporary and we are currently trying to help them find a new one. Leading up to and at the show the band says they'll gladly take your suggestions!
