A musical tribute to Canada’s star banjo player, BORGY BORGERSON (1925 - 2019)It will be with much nostalgia that Norrie MacFarlane and his crew perform again in the Sunday afternoon time slot. Canada's star banjo entertainer was inducted into the American Banjo Hall of Fame last year.
Unfortunately Borgy passed-away last month just short of his 94th birthday.
We invite you to join us in a musical tribute to this great musician, which will showcase some of Borgy's favourite songs.
Avram Devon McCagherty, a rising young star, was expertly coached by Borgy during his twilight years.
Avram, along with the Dixieland Express, and other musicians who Borgy touched along the way,
will entertain us with the nostalgic sights and sounds of this great master of the banjo.
Energizing the band with Norrie on trumpet will be Tom Vickery (piano), Avram McCagherty (banjo), Don Cox (tuba & bass), Lloyd Arntzen (clarinet & sax), and Anita Bonkowski (drums). A great band in a great venue with great food, dancing, fun and camaraderie.
