Event Description
workingclasstheatre is back with Radio: Scrooge, a live broadcast of A Christmas Carol. We’re excited to bring this timeless holiday classic to life with a unique spin that’s sure to delight audience members of all ages. Directed by Artistic Associate Joanne James, and featuring staple company members Ross Crockett as Scrooge and the return to the workingclasstheatre showbill, Artistic Director Tristan Bacon takes to the stage as Jacob Marley among others. Radio: Scrooge is the first in workingclasstheatre’s 16/17 season, with a new adaptation of Frankenstein due for May. workingclasstheatre wants to thanks the Belfry Theatre for its generous support on this production. This winter, join workingclasstheatre as we gather together for a special broadcast of A Christmas Carol! Truly a timeless holiday story, get swept up in the magic as Scrooge is haunted by three benevolent spirits bent on changing his miserable, miserly and mean ways. Welcome the ghosts into our studio, and watch as the power of this classic story transports us to a storybook world. Tickets are $25 and will be available online at www.workingclasstheatre.com, from company members and at the door.
Getting into the spirit of the season, workingclasstheatre is asking for donations from local businesses to support underprivileged families at Christmas. With a donation of $25 or more to cover the cost of a single ticket, we hope to subsidize an entire night of performance for families who may not be able to afford entertainment over the holidays. Audience members are encouraged to join us in our campaign to give back during the holidays, and will enjoy $5 off their ticket price when they bring a new toy or book to the door as a donation. workingclasstheatre is proud to be working with 1up Victoria to handle the donations and distribution of tickets. For more information, contact Markus Spodzieja, Events Coordinator, at 250-589-5021 or markusspodzieja@gmail.com
