Event Description
. Friday, November 20th IMU presents The PERNELL REICHERT BAND, The BURNETTES, SONS OF DAUGHTERS & DESERT RADIO @ The Railway Club, 579 Dunsmuir . Show 9:30pm / $10 coverThe PERNELL REICHERT BAND is an upbeat Vancouver-based trio with a high energy live act that features fast folky songs with intricate finger picking, electric slide guitar, foot-stomping banjo and witty banter with the audience. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Pernell-Reichert-Band/84499189276
The BURNETTES - Chugging their way through hypnotic laments, The Burnettes effortlessly recall the glory of mid-’90s slacker rock without sounding dated. Bringing bluesy delivery to an indie sensibility, their music remains fresh while paying homage to an era of honest folk rock bands. http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Burnettes/105424201607
SONS OF DAUGHTERS builds a shared love for gritty, southern, whisky-slinging blues into undeniable songwriting chemistry showcasing the talents of Chrystal Leigh, frontwoman for Dave Ogilvie’s industrial pop hybrid project Jakalope & Jimmy Thow, former frontman for Vancouver hard rock band Machines. Their music offers swampy riffs, haunting melodies, fireside storytelling and refreshingly candid vocals. http://www.sonsofdaughters.com
DESERT RADIO - An original combination of classic rock, southern rock and Americana, Desert Radio is the soundtrack of a sun-baked road trip to Juarez in a '68 Dodge with a mix tape of classic rock n roll and outlaw country stuck in the dashboard deck. Their song "February Day" was featured at Budweiser.com, became the number one ranked Americana song in the history of Garageband.com, and was used by NASCAR in a video tribute to Dale Earnhardt Sr that was broadcast throughout North America. The map may be lost, but the gauge says full, and there is always that music to lead us to where the top of the hill meets the bottom of the sky. http://www.facebook.com/desertradio
