XAVIER RUDD & THE UNITED NATIONS ANNOUNCE CANADIAN FLAG TOUR;FOLLOWING SOLD-OUT SPRING DATES
New Album ‘Nanna’ Out Now
Following sold-out appearances at Canadian Music Week (Toronto) and a headline date in Montreal, Xavier Rudd & The United Nations return to Canada throughout October and November to further celebrate the acclaimed studio album, Nanna (out now via Nettwerk Records).
With 30+ dates in North America, the band kicks off the Canadian leg of the tour in Vancouver on October 22nd, before hitting a dozen cities across the country and wrapping up in Montreal on November 11th.
“I feel the spirit of this band is very important. This album, this tour, this family, The United Nations is an example energetically & spiritually of where we need to be as a people. We tour in order to deliver this message and celebrate the energy of one people.” Xavier Rudd
Enthralling devoted fans, Xavier Rudd kicked off 2015 by unveiling his long-awaited dream project; a full-blown dub record, backed by an eight-piece international all-star band, The United Nations. The aptly titled Xavier Rudd & The United Nations brings together musicians from all corners of the globe, representing the diverse cultures of Australia, Indigenous Australia, South Africa, Samoa, Germany and Papua New Guinea. Mixed by the legendary Errol Brown, album track “Flag” is the perfect representation of this sound, and indeed the spirit within Xavier Rudd & The United Nations: it is a passionate call to unite, wrapped in pure Tuff Gong authenticity.
Xavier Rudd has been described by All Music as “a gifted bandleader and arranger and, more importantly, a servant of the music,” further praising that “each player shines forth her or his strength in this ambitious mix. What Rudd sacrifices in individual identity here is more than compensated for in the strength of both songs and the United Nations' performances.” Nanna is an amazingly uplifting listen.

About Xavier Rudd:
Nanna, a career-defining album that puts the once solo artist on his feet, playing guitar center stage, as he fronts Xavier Rudd & The United Nations - a one-people musical force. In the past, Rudd’s onstage one-man-band setup included a half-dozen guitar choices, three didgeridoos and various styles of native drum. Mixed by living legend Errol Brown at Tuff Gong Studios, Nanna earns its place in Rudd's impressive discography. Rudd’s 2002 debut album, To Let, introduced a sound that was a mix of guitars, yidakis (didgeridoos), stomp box and percussion, blues harp and vocals. In the years that followed, Rudd has released platinum-selling album, Solace (2004), Food In The Belly (2005), White Moth (2007), Dark Shades Of Blue (2008), Koonyum Sun (2010) and the triumphant 2012 album, Spirit Bird, led by the wonderfully delicate “Follow The Sun.”
