Event Description
Do you swoon at the chance to love local? Do you have a fat crush on all things homegrown: music, food, beer, and community? On Wednesday, April 8th at The Victoria Events Centre, 1415 Broad St, join us in celebrating local!Support the Oaklands Sunset Market and come out to Local Love Fundraiser. Gather with friends to indulge in local brew and food, get your picture taken at the photo-booth, write a Love Letter to your favourite local business and bid at the live auction all in support of the Oaklands Sunset Market. Live auction will include Whale Watching trips for 2 aboard the Prince of Whales, a family photo package from Sweet Earth Photographics and more awesome prizes.
Hoyne Brewing Company, one of the sponsors of the Oaklands Sunset Market, will be returning to provide a variety of their delectable Hoyne beers. Evening festivities will showcase live music from local bands. West My Friend, recently selected for the Vancouver Island Music Fest, will kick off the evening. Downtown Mischief, a 12-piece funk reggae band, will ring in the night and get everyone off their feet and on the dance floor! The evening will feature specialty local and seasonal snacks by the culinary wizards from Caravan Cuisine food truck.
Tickets are $20/in advance, or $25/at the door, and include entrance, a chance to bid on $2,000+ worth of local items! Tickets are available on Eventbrite or by calling Oaklands Community Centre, 250-370-9101. Funds raised will directly support local musicians showcased at the Oaklands Sunset Markets.
