Event Description

In our first concert of 2014, we welcome Cindy Liu, a talented young pianist who will play Tchaikovsky's piano concert no.1, one of the classics of the piano repertoire. We will open the program with the overture to Smetana's opera that draws on many Czech folksong themes.

To finish the concert we will play Schubert's Symphony no. 9 in C Major, nicknamed the "great" for both its "heavenly length" and the demands put upon the string players and woodwinds. We hope you can join us!
