Ross Birdwise is a Vancouver-based musician, visual artist and curator. His music practice encompasses improvisation, vocals, noise and electronic music. His visual art practice encompasses photography and video. Recently he curated sound art shows for the Surrey Art Gallery, and completed a soundtrack to a film by installation artist Keith Langergraber. He has been working on an as yet unreleased full length album that attempts to warp the listener's perceptions of space and time. When he is not involved in art and music, Ross enjoys reading philosophy, cultural criticism and political theory.

Fractal Proboscis:
An experimental collaboration between Daniel Mackenzie Karrasch, Janine Island, Thomas Speakman, and Justin Devries. Improvised meta-maximal throbbing waves.

Most recently the band has moved towards beat driven passages, ranging from subdued atmospheric pulses to ecstatic rhythmic intensity.
