Viva Youth Choirs of Victoria, under the direction of well-known Victoria musician Nicholas Fairbank, invites young male singers to create the unique sound of youthful male voices blended in harmony. This wonderful opportunity is made available at no charge to the singers. The repertoire is varied and the focus is on performance.

Victoria has a thriving choral community, with dozens of choirs for all ages. Some might even say that there are too many choirs all competing for the same singers and the same audiences. But every group has a slightly different focus, a slightly different style and personality.

Amongst these there are a few male voice choirs, but before now there has not been a community choir in the CRD for young men to sing together, creating that unique sound of youthful male voices blended in harmony.

Well-known Victoria musician Nicholas Fairbank is creating a new group, through the Viva Youth Choirs, which will bring together young male singers aged 15 to 22+. Beginning on November 3rd, the group will meet on Saturday afternoons from 4:30 – 6pm.

In order to encourage a maximum of singers to try this out, there will be no charge for membership. We simply ask for a commitment to the weekly rehearsal.

The repertoire will be varied, but focusing on music particularly suited to the young male voice: folk songs, good arrangements of pop, jazz and Broadway, some barbershop, along with good quality classical and world music.
