"Sometimes they scream, sometimes they sing, but we're not going to get into the whole is it emo?/is it screamo? debate where the Reason is concerned. The Southern Ontario quintet has just released a full-length debut, Ravenna, that jumps easily from gale-force, head-rattling punk to smooth yet aggressive pop, and that's good enough for us. Song titles like "Reclaiming the Throne", "The Joke & the Gentleman" and "Afterparty at the Actor's Estate" hint at a youthful, idealistic mindset at work, which may be one more reason to catch the band when it plays what is sure to be one of the most frenzied shows of the year at Mesa Luna on Tuesday (October 5)."
