Event Description
MILES TO FEET is a full-length evening of music & tap dance. The evening features local musicians, Terry Townson on trumpet, Liam MacDonald on percussion, Michael Rush on bass, Jillian Lebeck on keys, and tap-dancers Danny Nielsen & Dayna Szyndrowski. MILES TO FEET is the first collaboration between these artists; all equally dedicated to exploring the teachings of one of jazz music's greatest influences.Miles has been quoted to say "I loved to look at and listen to tap dancers. They are so close to music in the way they make their tap sound. They are almost like drummers and you can learn a lot from just listening to the rhythms they get from their taps."
Join us this Mother's Day to hear everything from Miles' cool jazz in the 40s through to his experimental music in the 80s.
