Vancouver songwriter Dave Phillips has certainly found his own voice. Perhaps that is what compels him to find new sounds, new melodies, “new colours” as evident on his solo debut “1887 - 1905”. While this unlikely collaboration with veteran producer Ben Mink does hit on something new, it is everywhere rooted with a deep understanding of his musical tradition.

Vancouver’s new kid on the block, transplanted from the Prairies, devilsplender is quickly being embraced by the local roots community. Band leader/songwriter/producer Rob Malowany, who performs is soulful, roots rock style of music with such passion and desire that devilsplender shows are becoming revered as NOT TO BE MISSED. devilsplender as a band is primarily comprised of a rotating roster with some of Vancouver’s legendary roots and blues heavy-weights jumping on board to share is the fun.
