Event Description
A little about OneStarCity - www.myspace.com/onestarcityMeet your new best friend, OneStarCity. Born out of the UK, the Yukon, the interior of British Columbia, and Surrey, OneStarCity is poised to rock the music scene. James, Josh, Greg, Phil and Tom fill rooms with their exuberance and talent alone; the crowds that are attracted to them like moths to a lantern do further credit to their musical ability and showmanship. While OneStarCity was officially born in late 2007, three of the members were involved together musically in other projects, and every person in the band has extensive stage and touring experience. OneStarCity takes their music seriously, but they also know how to have fun, and their excitement is infectious. With sounds ranging from aggressive tracks that someone can swing a hatchet to, to more melodic and introspective tunes that are good for yachting, the band puts on a cathartic show that ranges the gamut of emotions.
A little about Fighting for Ithaca - www.myspace.com/fightingforithaca
Since their formation in the summer of 2007, Vancouver B.C.’s Fighting For Ithaca have been making a name for themselves at both the local and national level. Despite their short time together, this young, passionate band has been winning over fans of all ages with their intense stage show and catchy brand of punk-influenced powerpop.
Since the release of their debut EP in 2008, the band has never stopped pushing forward, trying to bring something new to a music scene that they believe has grown stale. Currently working on their yet-to-be titled second release, the band has high hopes for the future as they plan their attack on an unsuspecting world.
