PEDWELL is an emerging 4-piece Pop-Rock act from Vancouver, BC Canada. Being voted Best Indie band in Vancouver in the 2008 Georgia Straight Readers Poll and recording tracks with multi-platinum producer Warne Livesey (Midnight Oil, Matthew Good Band, 54-40), PEDWELL is constantly solidifying their footprint on the Canadian music scene. Their hard-hitting track 'Poem' was recently chosen for Canadian airplay as one of Subway's Fresh Tracks. PEDWELL's first single 'Lay It On Me' can be requested on Indie Night in Canada and on 99.3FM The Fox by calling (604) 280-2369, or request@cfox.com. PEDWELL is currently gearing up for their first Cross-Canada Tour in 2009.
Ace Bradley Pedwell is a singer/songwriter originally from Vancouver BC Canada. His focus: creating timeless songs to be remembered for generations to come. PEDWELL is his vehicle: a multi-faceted post-grunge, arena-rock act with a hint of rock opera. Pedwell's dynamic vocal stylings and songwriting have earned the singer/songwriter accolades from even the recording industry's toughest critics.
A Vocally-driven songwriter, Pedwell's dynamic vocal style has been compared to vocalists like Brandon Boyd, Adam Duritz, and Pete Loeffler as well as songwriters like Chris Cornell, Brad Nowell and Meat Loaf. Since signing with London-based Hurricane Music Group among fierce competition, Pedwell's unique stage-persona has captivated audiences across the Northern Hemisphere, through Canada, US, and the United Kingdom.
A LITTLE ABOUT GRIN CONVENTION - http://www.myspace.com/grinconvention
A lost and found box for love, grinConvention's music combines longing, wistful melodies with unique pop progressions and beats. A dichotomy of sweetness and sorrow form the 12 songs on gC's demo album 'No In No Out'. The melancholy is tangible in "Such a Price" and "The World is a Movie Screen", leaving you hopeful and forlorn all at once. "The Vitamin Shoppe" is a snapshot of self-loathing, unrequited love, while "When Did You Get So Small" and "All These Games" highlight grinConvention's modern-pop sensibility. Lyrics are cleverly, liltingly phrased around seductive chords. The result is unforgettable. Delicate. Sexy. Music for lovers not fighters. Music that lingers long after the batteries die. Compared to a 'modern-day-Joni-Mitchell', the band is fronted by singer/songwriter Kari Santoro. Supporting her with luscious soundscapes and intricate borderlines are lifelong musicians: co-writer Steve Kendall on drums and percussion, co-writer Robin Brooks on guitars, and Trevor Andres on bass. The album was co-written, co-arranged and co-produced by Jez Thomas (The Sunray Estate) in the UK. Rooted firmly in reality, these likable musicians aren't fame-seekers; just 5 humans who love creating and playing music that crawls into bed with you and eats crackers all night long.
