Event Description
. Friday, August 1st I.M.U. presents NINJA SPY w/ special guests The WHITEBOARD PROJECT (Nanaimo) @ The Bourbon, 50 West Cordova . Early show 8-11pm sharp / Tix available directly via the bands or purchase advance tickets online @ www.imuproductions.comNINJA SPY's original contagious and emotive "Skankore" hybrid of Hardcore mixed with Funk/Ska/Reggae is created by three brothers in constant battle with the Triad of MI (Monotony / Indifference, Malice / Intolerance & Materialism / Ignorance). Their music traverses extremes and draws from genres including post hardcore, ska, grunge and reggae. Infusing funk and groove with heart-pounding double-kick and guttural screams, this "Triad in Blood" draws the attention of musicians and music listeners alike. www.ninjaspy.net
The WHITEBOARD PROJECT - The Vancouver Island based three-piece known as The Whiteboard Project started in late 2006 when Paul Jacobs (guitar/vocals) and Jeff Laired (drums), having never played together before, reluctantly agreed to fill in for the overly inebriated band that was supposed to perform at a friends party. Their musical connection was immediately obvious & within a short while, they had a bassist and a weekly rock jam at a local club, then they moved onto playing gigs at local clubs and all-ages events. The band's original & distinctive alternative progressive hard rock combined with their intense live shows have garnered the band a dedicated fan base that is relentless in its efforts in supporting the band. www.myspace.com/thewhiteboardproject
