All of us LOVED to play Tragically Hip songs in the Moral Dilemma (http://www.myspace.com/moraldilemmarocks)cover band and they had always been our strongest material. In 2006, we were looking to get a dedicated vocalist and front man. We had pretty much decided on another singer when Ross called up out of the blue to audition in the 11th hour. He'd never done the full band thing before but he and I had really hit it off on the phone so I thought, "What the hell, c'mon in". We had him come in and were immediately floored by Ross's similarity to Gordon Downie. He pulls off a pretty mean Robert Plant as well but don't tell him we told you. Needless to say, after a very short discussion with the other members of the band, we decided to bring him home with us. Soon after that, the decision was made to forge ahead with the concept of a Tragically Hip Tribute Band.
We're not trying to reproduce the Tragically Hip's music note for note. Hell, they don't even do that. More important for us, is capturing the spirit and the raw energy that has made the Hip the Canadian rock icon that they are today. The Tragically Hip as a whole speaks to the very heart of who we are as Canadians and we're all huge fans. And all of us having been influenced so much by them as musicians has made reproducing their sound a very "natural" process. Its great music to listen to and dance to, bit it's really fun music to play...and we love each and every song that we play.

The guys in this band are incredible to work with. Every time we hit the stage, Ross steps further out of his comfort zone as Rick throws in a new lead riff while Kerry directs traffic on drums, telling us where and when to go and how fast to get there. This as Simon comes up yet another variation of that Rhythm Player/Bass Player bonding dance thing that we seem to do when the music begins to hit that magical frenetic peak. And judging by the dance floor, our crowd is having as much of a blast as we are!!

We're proud of the Hip, proud to be Canadian and proud of the quality of music we put out there. We invite you to come share our love for everything in life that is Hip.
