Historic JAMES BAY INN is the third oldest hotel in Victoria, preceded only by the Dominion Hotel and the Empress built in 1908 Opened in 1911 it has operated continuously as a hotel with only a brief interlude during the war years when, along with the Sisters of Ste-Ann, Emily Carr became a resident until she gently gave up the ghost. Besides offering bright rooms in the Inn, a 2 bedroom Cottage is available for short or longer stays next to an Heritage House with stylish suites in the midst of a lush garden.
