A festival within a festival, Jazz at the Roundhouse features the most eclectic collection of the top jazz, world music and contemporary artists anywhere, free of charge! From the casual, outdoor Stage at David Lam Park to the beautiful indoor theatre spaces of the Roundhouse Community Arts Centre, the best in international music will be presented from noon until 10 PM. Workshops @ the Studio will host some of the world's most brilliant improvisers as they discuss their musical processes and demonstrate some "tricks of the trade" to musicians and non-musicians alike. Once again, the Jazz Festival is pleased to offer three wine and beer bistros as part of Jazz at the Roundhouse: the Drake Street Jazz Bistro, the Pumphouse Bistro and Festival Hall Bistro. The first two are outdoor bistros, the third indoors, all featuring light Pacific Northwest fare with the finest refreshments from Granville Island Brewing and Sandhill Wines. The Bistros have also been expanded to include a non-licensed "family" section so that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere from noon until 10 PM. Offering an ambiance that combines the lure of the waterfront with a sophisticated urban feel, the Bistros provide an opportunity to sit back, relax and take in the sights and sounds of Vancouver's largest international music festival.
