Planet Earth Poetry is a long standing reading series (since 1995) featuring local poets and writers as well as poets and authors from the rest of Canada, especially BC and Alberta. Our readings have been at Hillside Coffee & Tea, 1633 Hillside Avenue for over 10 years on Friday evenings. We start at 7:15 with an open mic (sign up closes at 7:00- it is a lottery system) We run every Friday from mid-September to early December and then mid-January to the end of May. In the summer we are once a month only. In addition we offer writing workshops, master classes and retreats on an occasional basis. Check out the website for details. We are collective of writers and friends of writers. Our readings are suspended during the Covid -19 social restrictions. We have a Pandemic Poetry Contest and a Digital Open Mic underway and have some limited edition original prints from poet and atist Patrick Lane for sale. See our webiste for details.
