This new project by Toronto-based bassist/composer Rosemary Galloway includes some of the finest musicians in the country: Pat LaBarbera saxophones, Gary Williamson piano and Terry Clarke drums. The music is a mix of standards arranged by band members or rewritten to create new tunes on familiar structures, as well as original material. The musical styles highlight a cross-section of influences, including Latin and Carribean grooves and contemporary harmonic structures. Galloway has led her own groups (Velvet Glove, Swing Sisters) and worked with Lorrain Desmarais, Jane Bunnett, Ingrid Jensen and Doc Cheatham.
