Choo former front man of Calgary bands Warning by Sea, and guitarist of First in Last Out started writing songs as a side project Medical, as a excuse to tour Europe in 2005. This was supported with the release of a 6 song "Blankets to keep us cold". By 2007 Medical has now become the vehicle for musical experimentation. Over 2 years, close to 25 songs have been written and 14 of them recorded. These songs have been released at the end of June 2007, and titled "Asleep at the Wheel". The album features clashing styles and interweaving themes, making sense together by unified by feeling and thoughts.
