The Helen Davies Band

The Helen Davies Band is a five-piece blues and soul band from Victoria B.C. that plays music by such artists as Etta James, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Koko Taylor, Big Mama Thornton, Nina Simone and more. The music is up-tempo and danceable. The band also plays a variety of other blues and soul standards, as well as music composed by the three songwriters in the band. Formerly called CURL (est. 2005), the band shifted direction upon losing long-time bass player and friend, Susan Johnson. The current lineup of the Helen Davies Band is:
