About
Au Revoir Simone
Label: Our Secret Record Company
“equal parts dance floor filler and a touching little ditty ready-made for your next romantic mixtape” – Consequence Of Sound“the band is heading into even lusher, slightly more dancey territories, which sounds like a good path for them to take” – Pitchfork
“a soft, whispy dance track but has a backbone of off-kilter synths that make it a slightly unsettling (in a good way!) love jam.” – Stereogum
After a four-year hiatus, Brooklyn trio, Au Revoir Simone release their long awaited new single, ‘Somebody Who’. A lush, dancey track, ‘Somebody Who’ is layered with keyboards and beautiful, airy harmonies.
The single is taken from the forthcoming album, ‘Move In Spectrums’. Produced by Violens’ Jorge Elbrecht, ‘Move in Spectrums’ is the follow up to 2009’s critically acclaimed and the trio’s most successful record yet, ‘Still Night, Still Light’. Following the release of ‘Still Night, Still Light’, the band felt they needed a break. After touring around the world and collaborating with artists such as Air and Johnny Marr, they took time off to do their own thing. Heather D’Angelo finished a degree in Environmental Biology, Erika Forster released a solo album under the moniker Erika Spring and Annie Hart toured with the artists Uninhabitable Mansions and Pursesnatchers.
‘Move In Spectrums’ is an honest refraction of three lives weaving together in a thirst for life, sensation, truth and love. One listen to ‘Move In Spectrums’ confirms what you already knew but didn’t know how to say – that you missed this band and you’re damn glad that they’re back. The new album will be out Sept 27, 2013.
