Manitoba's second album, 'Up In Flames', will be released by The Leaf Label in March 2002, and has been licensed by Domino for North America. You’ll quickly realise there has been a massive step onwards from his 2001 debut, Start Breaking My Heart, and as such, Manitoba will no longer perform as a solo laptop entity but as a three piece band featuring two drummers, glockenspiel, guitar, theremin and vocals. Start Breaking My Heart, turned Dan Snaith into an overnight sensation. He won Electronica Album of the Year in the 2002 Canadian Independent Music Awards and in the UK was Muzik Magazine’s #14 album of 2001 declaring him the “pick of the bunch” when it came to the new wave of leftfield producers, a sentiment echoed by many in his bulging press file. He’s since toured on five continents taking in fifteen countries, from headlining at the 2002 SONAR festival in Barcelona to playing at CMJ in New York, rocking a packed Liquid Room in Tokyo to scoping out the east coast of Australia and New Zealand, as well as shows all over Europe and Canada.
