TEENAGE HEAD Hamilton's Teenage Head took its name from the title of a Flaming Groovies album, which guitarist Gord Lewis had spotted on the back of Creem Magazine during his high school years. The self-proclaimed 'kings of teenage beer drinking parties,' the band maintains their reputation today as one of Canada's great live bands. Their self-titled debut, produced by Alan Caddy (the Tornados), was released in 1979 and sold more than 27,000 copies in Canada in its first two years of release. The album has a classic sound that remains a fan favourite to this day. Their frenetic live shows, which drew capacity crowds everywhere they played, and the immediate radio exposure of two singles "Top Down" and "Picture My Face," raised eyebrows at Attic Records, who soon signed the band for future releases. Despite the fanatical response the album has maintained since its original release, it has never been officially released on compact disc. Until now. This is the first band-sanctioned release of this classic Canadian album, containing the original 1979 mixes of the album digitally remastered by Nick Blagona at Metalworks.
