When you think of the Vancouver BC based SPREADEAGLE you think of one of the loudest bands to grace us with their head-banging, rock n roll presence in North America by far. The band was formed in early 2000 when brothers and guitarists extraordinaire Donnie James Rio (Chris Dyck) and Mattias Stabbs (Matt Dyck) decided it was time to play rad music how they want and when they want.

Throughout the life span of 8 years, SPREADEAGLE has gone through some member changes and they have now found the basis of this massive force of mystery that is headed by Front man Vocalist/Songwriter Juan Badmutha (Telford Germyn), Guitarist Kenny Savage (Kenny Cook), Vocalist/Songwriter and Bassist, Boon (Aaron Gustafson) and Drummer, Dana (Jason Dana).

Their self-financed debut album, that was self-titled SPREADEAGLE was released in 2003 and quickly became a favorite among the hard rocking crowd of the lower mainland. It was the song titled Blackout that put SPREADEAGLE on the map and allowed them to create a music video to express the in your face lyrics. Although well received by the many fans the music video never went to broadcast due to the quality, but that didn’t stop them from playing the music they love at every show they could.

After 3 years and doing numerous shows at almost every venue in the lower mainland and Vancouver Island, in 2006 they were able to record their latest album that was released in 2007 titled MAGNUS BESTIA. With hits such as Sin is a Good Mans Daughter and Hate the light and with their insane triple guitar riffs and catchy courses there was no doubt that the band had grown lyrically and musically. The album was so well received by fans that four cross Canada tours were performed throughout BC and Alberta, not to mention the doing 2-3 shows a month in the lower mainland and impressing new and existing fans every time. This kind of raw energy that is brought to every show just can’t be bought.

They’ve been featured in the local 24-hour Magazine, The Georgia Straight, Hindsight Magazine, Nerve Magazine and interviewed on the Fox 99.3 that is one of the biggest West Coast rock stations in North America.

SPREADEAGLE has toured and played with bands like The misfits, Nashville pussy, Priestess, Supersuckers, White Cowbell Oklahoma, SNFU, Bad Wizard, Kill Cheerleader, Cauldron, The Last Vegas, Speedealer, Electric Frankenstein just to name a few. Not to mention all the local artists that they have played with along this rad road of awesomeness such as Pride tiger, Bison, Grass City, Spitfires, Black Halos, John Ford, Mongoose, Lions in the Street, The Hits, Red Hot Lovers, Switchblade Valentines, Karen Foster, Crystal Pistol, The Manvils, Crown the Wolf, and many other great acts from British Columbia and Alberta.

With influences such as Thin Lizzy, Turbonegro, The Dwarves, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Motorhead its no doubt that this massive compilation of six of the most intense, hard working and talented musicians will be ruling the planet for decades to come.
