"Lindsay Pugh is quickly becoming one of this city's most well-known musicians.
Originally hailing from the Sault, Pugh also spent a number of years spreading his musical skills elsewhere. He originally left our fair city for the bright lights of Montreal in the early 1990s. At that time, his then band, local blues favourites The Rhythm Rats, had decided to relocate to a larger and more musically invigorated market.
After a number of years hitting the blues clubs and festivals in Montreal, Pugh found himself relocating once again - this time to Indiana. It was there he played and recorded with a blues outfit known as Southside Denny, a band that included the likes of drumming legend Billy 'Stix' Nicks.
Fast forward many years later, Pugh returned to the Sault to finish his degree in music at Algoma University. Pugh quickly discovered that there were opportunities to pick up gigs in the clubs with a variety of local artists including the Northern Jazz Ensemble, Bob Jenkins Group, Chris Belsito, Catherine Taddo and as part of his own outfit, The Rhythm Section.
These days, he has also has been spotted performing blues as a solo artist."
