UNION ONE UNION ONE started in Nov. 2002 when Crispin Earl (Vocals-June), frustrated with the state of music today, decided to start writing some melodic rock of his own. Singing and playing the drums, Crispin enlisted Tom MacDonald (Bass-Flybanger, BigFATScratch) and Al Levy (Guitar-Boxcutter) to rock his original six-song recording, produced by local wiz-kid Jay V. P. Not quite aware of what he had, Crispin circulated a few copies of the songs within the record industry to gage response to his creations. Immediately there was interest from such labels as Island/Def Jam, Maverick, Atlantic; etc� who started offering deals to the band. One of the first to recognize Crispin�s potential was Jonathan Simkin (604 Records Canada), who sent a copy of the material to his partner Chad Kroeger (Nickelback). Chad immediately called Crispin to say that he wanted something to do with the project. Realizing that he needed a permanent band, Crispin asked Tom and Al to stay on as permanent members while he looked for a drummer and second guitar player.
