Phil Dwyer/Dave Young Octet

As a saxophonist, pianist, composer and arranger, Phil Dwyer has enjoyed a career of great diversity. He has performed and/or recorded with many of the leading Canadian and international names in jazz, pop, world, and classical music such as Renee Rosnes, Aretha Franklin and Natalie Cole. Juno Award-winning bassist Dave Young’s artistry and rich, musically diverse past has made him one of Canada’s premier jazz bassists. Young has performed and recorded with many jazz luminaries including a longtime association with legendary Oscar Peterson spanning two decades. Together, Dwyer and Young have collaborated on projects for over a decade. Teaming up with six of Vancouver’s finest players – Mike Allen (bari sax); Campbell Ryga (alto sax); Kevin Elaschuk; (trumpet); Dave Robbins (drums); Dennis Esson (trombone); Ross Taggart (piano) – Dwyer (tenor sax) and Young (bass) will lead this spectacular Octet as well as a set with “A” Band.
